CivicSonar is a government procurement intelligence platform that monitors city, county and school district meetings across the United States and Canada, extracting buying signals from meeting minutes, agendas and meeting video transcripts so that public sector sales teams can act before an RFP is issued.
The company was built by engineers and public policy people who kept finding that the most useful information about a coming purchase was not in the RFP. It was in the committee discussion months earlier: the budget line being argued over, the failing equipment somebody complained about, the vendor whose contract nobody wants to renew.
By the time a solicitation is published, the requirements have usually been shaped and the decision has effectively been made. CivicSonar reads the public record where that happens, so a vendor can be part of the conversation rather than responding to its conclusion.
